Pottery, Framed Collages,
Needlework and Soft Sculpture
My pottery is functional and non functional sculptural pieces that are hand built. I work out of the pottery studio at Pinckneyville Community Center.
All of my jewelry is made with semi-precious stones, cultured pearls and seed beads strung to create statement necklaces.
The dolls vary from seasonal and holiday figures to ones made just for fun. They are whimsical figures made from cotton and synthetic fabrics, ribbons buttons and yarn and are approximately 22″ tall.
My collage work takes man-made materials and objects juxtaposed with materials from nature.
I began my professional creative life as a commercial interior designer. After working in this field for 42 years I retired in 2009 and needed to redirect my creative energy.
The result, to date, is explorations in pottery, collages of mixed media, jewelry, cloth fantasy dolls and Christmas stockings. I have found great joy in making adornments for the body and the home that stimulate and enrich our spirit.
